Updating Our US Shipping Policy: Lower Display Prices and Direct Customs Billing
We are updating our shipping policy for customers in the United States. Effective immediately, we are transitioning all US airsoft shipments from Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) to Delivered at Place (DAP).
This operational shift allows us to reduce product display prices across our website by up to 15% for US orders. Below is an overview of why we made this adjustment and what to expect regarding import tariffs and delivery.
Why We Are Making This Change
Previously, we used UPS to provide DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) shipping, attempting to bundle estimated import duties and carrier processing fees directly into our checkout and catalog prices.
However, unpredictable fee structures invoiced to us by UPS required to build significant pricing buffers into our catalog to cover variable carrier surcharges. Rather than continuing to include these inflated carrier markups in our product prices, we are returning to DAP (Delivered at Place) services.
Removing the DDP buffer allows us to pass those savings directly back to you through lower upfront item prices.
Tariff Classification and Delivery Charges
Under DAP shipping, orders are cleared through US Customs in the recipient's name. Applicable import duties and courier processing fees are billed directly to you by UPS upon arrival in the United States.
Primary Tariff Codes (HTS)
To help you understand potential import duties, our products are declared under standard Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications:
Airsoft Replicas (Spring, Gas, & Electric): usually declared under HTS Code 9304.00.
Parts & Accessories: usually declared under HTS Code 9305.99.
Optics & Tactical Gear: usually declared under their respective standard equipment codes (e.g., HTS 9013.10 for optics).
Summary of the New Order Process
At Checkout: You purchase items and standard airfreight shipping at our newly lowered retail rates (10–15% lower than previous listed prices).
In Transit: Your package enters US customs processing declared under the appropriate HTS code.
Delivery: UPS contacts you to collect official duties and their standard clearance fee before completing final package drop-off.
Our objective with this change is total transparency: you pay actual catalog prices upfront and exact, itemized customs costs upon delivery without hidden carrier buffers.
